This is… exactly what it says on the tin. A list of all the CDs I own, in alphabetical order by artist, with a little description of why I own them. Maybe you will find some music you’ve never heard but love! Or maybe you think I’m stupid and possibly insane. Regardless, it is here. Enjoy.

Licensed to Ill by Beastie Boys - Rap rock/hip-hop - My mum had it. I don’t even like the album that much…

Atomic: The Very Best of Blondie by Blondie - New wave - I am genetically predisposed to new wave.

Parklife by Blur - Britpop - It fills me with a sense of enormous wellbeing.

Changesbowie by David Bowie - Glam rock - I am not immune to David Bowie.

Post Human: Survival Horror by Bring Me The Horizon - Alt metal/nu metal/industrial - Absolute killer headbanging material.

International Velvet by Catatonia - Alt rock - Catatonia’s greatest album and a pandemic favourite.

Equally Cursed and Blessed by Catatonia - Rock - Second favourite Catatonia album, features Londinium (banger).

Strange Glue by Catatonia - Alt rock - The B-side is That’s All Folks which is my favourite Catatonia song, and it wasn’t available on Spotify until recently so I was thrilled to find this single.

Discovery by Daft Punk - French house/electro-funk - Uncontroversially one of the best albums ever, and I am a huge fan of Interstella 555: The 5story of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (have seen it in cinemas!).

Maggot by Dazey and the Scouts - Riot grrrl/punk rock/queercore - My favourite album of all time.

…For the Whole World to See by Death - Punk rock - A beautiful album and a piece of punk history.

Planet Her by Doja Cat - Pop/hip-hop/R&B - Nice background music for hangouts.

Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor by Caro Emerald - Electro-swing - I was a massive electro-swing fan as a kid so picked this up for nostalgia reasons.

The Secret to Life by Fizz - Indie pop - Got it for Orla Gartland, but a couple of really good songs on here esp. High in Brighton.

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips - Neo-psychedelia/space rock - Historic, cool as hell and pleasant to listen to.

The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac by Fleetwood Mac - Rock - Is there any question as to why Fleetwood Mac belongs on every CD rack in the world? They lasted for four decades. Objectively they are good.

Woman on the Internet by Orla Gartland - Indie pop - Formative album for me, extremely yummy stuff. Caught covid at the show, still worth it.

Live Through This by Hole - Alt rock/grunge/punk rock - I was recommended this by my neglectful ex-girlfriend which I believe is the intended listening experience.

Hozier by Hozier - Blues/soul/indie rock - Legendary charity shop pull, truly excellent album and great background music.

Razzmatazz by I Don’t Know How But They Found Me - Indie pop/new wave/pop rock - Another sixth form obsession turned pretty decent album, well worth a listen.

Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi - Glam metal - Truly exceptional album, formative to my music taste.

Diva by Annie Lennox - Pop/soul - Picked this up in a charity shop for Walking on Broken Glass.

Special by Lizzo - Pop/funk/disco - Really solid pop album.

Galore by Kirsty MacColl - Only purchased for There’s a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He’s Elvis but I have to put some respect on her name because she died heroically saving her son from a speedboat accident.

Showbiz by Muse - Alt rock/hard rock - I don’t even like this one but my parents have all the Muse albums except The 2nd Law for some reason so I’ve inherited them.

Origin of Symmetry by Muse - Alt rock/prog rock - Quite a few standout singles here like Plug In Baby and New Born/

Absolution by Muse - Alt rock/prog rock - Don’t like this one as much.

Black Holes and Revelations by Muse - Alt rock/prog rock/hard rock - My favourite Muse album, just banger after banger, no notes.

The Resistance by Muse - Alt rock/art rock - Eh, not my thing, but objectively a pretty solid album. MK Ultra is a favourite.

Drones by Muse - Alt rock/prog rock/hard rock - The first one I remember the release of. Relatively good.

Simulation Theory by Muse - Electronic rock/new wave - Man, I want to hate this but I went to the stadium tour and it was the best gig I’ve ever seen so I can’t. It’s so earnest, it feels like kicking a puppy…

Will of the People by Muse - Alt rock/glam rock - Matt says it’s a “greatest hits album of new songs” and I can’t help but agree - it’s pure distilled Muse.

I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love by My Chemical Romance - Post-hardcore/emo/punk rock - We’re free of Muse but at what cost… I love how raw this is.

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance - Emo/alt rock/pop-punk - Probably my least favourite MCR album, but it’s still got many a banger.

The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance - Emo/alt rock/pop-punk - Really solid, got to see the 2026 tour(!), one of the albums of all time, undeniably formative for a generation.

Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys by My Chemical Romance - Alt rock/pop-punk/glam rock - I don’t care what anyone says, this is the best MCR album ever and every single song on it makes me want to drive a car off a cliff. I also have the deluxe edition but I won’t list it twice. Plus it’s not actually on my CD shelf since it doesn’t fit.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails - Industrial - There’s a post somewhere about someone listening to this album and thinking the bin lorry outside was part of the music. I can see that. It’s dope.

Supernova by Nova Twins - Alt rock/punk rock - This album is good but I’m still on the hunt for We Are The Girls, which was better. Their new stuff is rubbish.

The Fat of the Land by The Prodigy - Big beat/electropunk/techno - Another incredible album inherited from my mum. I adore it, it’s great for workouts.

Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy - Big beat/new rave - This is a bit more mainstream but goddamnit I still love it. Omen is an all-timer.

The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan - Synth-pop/alt-pop - I liked this before it was cool, OK? I’ve been obsessing over Chappell since the Casual music video. I broke out of hospital to see Chappell at Reading. It was worth it.

Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters - Glam rock/nu-disco - Take Your Mama is a banger.

Ta-Dah by Scissor Sisters - Glam rock/pop rock - I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ and I Can’t Decide are bangers.

Night Work by Scissor Sisters - Alt rock/glam rock - I don’t think I’ve even listened to this album. I don’t know why I have so much Scissor Sisters.

Kilroy Was Here by Styx - Pop rock - Absolutely awesome album, if only for what it could have been.

Simply The Best by Tina Turner - Pop/rock - Tina Turner is totally underrated in the rock afficionado crowd and everyone should watch Mad Max: Thunderdome.

Under the Crooked Moon by The Hot Puppies - Rock(?) - Picked up in a charity shop. It’s fine.

Venom by Wargasm - Nu metal/synth-punk - Sick album but Wargasm is best experienced live, I highly recommend their shows.

Highlights from Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of the War of the Worlds by Jeff Wane et al - Prog rock - An album I was raised on, and my dad before me. Genuinely incredible experience to listen to, and if you can find a video of the original musical watch that too. Don’t bother with the new versions. Jeff, if you’re reading this, time to let it die.
